Oyadesk is run by Acquisition Hive. Clinics use Oyadesk to keep their patients’ records. This policy explains what information is in Oyadesk, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is in charge of your information
If you are a patient, your clinic decides what is recorded about you and why. We store and process it for your clinic. For anything about your records, speak to your clinic first.
What we collect
- Patient details: name, phone, sex, date of birth, address, HMO details.
- Care records: visits, eye exams, diagnoses, prescriptions, glasses orders.
- Billing: bills, payments, HMO claims.
- Clinic staff accounts: name, email, role, sign-in activity.
- Technical data: device, browser and usage logs.
Why we use it
- To give the clinic the service: records, queue, billing, glasses, reminders.
- To keep Oyadesk secure, fix problems and support clinics.
- To improve Oyadesk, including combined or anonymised insights.
We do not sell personal information.
Who it is shared with
- Clinic staff, by their job in the clinic.
- Service providers that help us run Oyadesk, such as secure hosting.
- OtoPing, to send WhatsApp messages from the clinic’s own number.
- Others only when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Information is stored with trusted cloud providers, which may be outside Nigeria (currently the United Kingdom), with protections in place.
How long it is kept
Records are kept for as long as the clinic needs them for care and as the law requires for medical records. When a record is erased, names and contact details are removed.
Your rights
You can ask your clinic to see your information, correct it, or delete it, and to stop sending you messages. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Security
We use encryption, role-based access, activity logs and backups to protect information.
